On 14th September, we met 'I Am One' at their flat in Swiss Cottage, so that we could listen to a few of their tracks and decide together which one we wanted to use to make a music video. We decided on a song called 'I Am Blessed', because the lyrics were really powerful and immediately provoked some ideas of themes that we could use in the video, such as the contrast of different cultures and races. This also references to the fact that the two band members are different races, with Jamie, the rapper, being black and Ollie, the guitarist/singer being white. Both also come from contrasting backgrounds, which we wanted to show in our music video. After we had decided on a song, we asked the band members what bands have inspired them, so that we could get an idea of music videos from other bands with similar styles. They told us that they really liked the video for 'View From The Afternoon' by Arctic Monkeys and also liked some of the music by The Streets, so we looked at these videos on Youtube, and they can be seen below:
